    And Dodges exported …
And Dodges exported as right hand models had Plymouth dashboards (fascias). The Canadian Pontiacs were kit cars from GM of Canada’s Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant and exported to Holden in Oz for final assembly (which Holden resented) These Pontiacs used inverted Cheverolet dashboards.

    I dont think its …
I dont think its illegal to have the steering wheel on the “wrong side” depending on which country you live in. However, in the UK it is certainly more desirable to have it on the right. That way you can see for overtaking, and see more of the road ahead in general, especially useful for twisty country lanes.

There are over 70 Nations that drive on the left like the UK. Including India, Kenya, Thailand, Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Somalia, Suriname, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Pakistan, Namibia, Mozambique, Japan…..at least 2 billion people move on the left hand side.

is it considered “illegal” to have the steering wheel on the “wrong side” where anyone lives?

it might have made sense in the stagecoach days, but i think its 100% irrelevant as to where the steering wheel is inside a car.

    True. The dash …
True. The dash insert for the Right hand drive was from a Valiant, another model they already exported in Right hand drive. To avoid retooling, they just stuck the valiant speedo and guages in the rhd cuda. They Aren’t as nice as round ones, but do the job.

    Dont be such amazed …
Dont be such amazed that the car has the steering wheel on right and not on left, many cars produced in America where exported to England,Australia and other countryes where the cars have the steering wheel on left.
Actually in Mad Max 2,you could an Mustang Interceptor with steering wheel on the right,Holden cars are Pontiacs with steering wheel on right and different logo, now they are produced in Australia, but there where years when they where produced in America and shiped to Australia.

    Well, it was …
Well, it was designed and made in Detroit so I’d say that’s exaclty what I’d call it. Export. Import. Trade. Learning about other cultures. All good. If you went to England and wore english clothes you’d still call yourself American wouldn’t you?
