is a dodge viper a muscle car?
March 6th, 2010 | by admin |
its considered to be a modern day muscle car, although it hasn’t been around that long its one of dodges strongest running cars, and fastest, for what it is and they way it comes from the factory its a very fast car, probably one of the few cars that will scare me when i ride in one, unless im driving now days anything that runs over 120 miles per hour kind of makes me wish i wasn’t in it,i have drove a few vipers that run really strong, the fastest i ever seen one doing was 134 and i was driving it,but yes its considered to be a modern day muscle car, most people think of muscle cars as being the older cars with the old v-8,s but a viper is good competition for any of these cars, good luck.

No, a muscle car is cars from the 67 up to 78 or 79. A viper can’t compare to a muscle car.

no, it’s a sports car.
it’s WAY faster than any 60-70s era muscle car.
a muscle car is just the modern way of saying a V-8 sports coupe, which instead of being a 2 seater as a sports car was typically a 4 seater.
as for muscle cars, the best muscle cars ever made are on the market right now. the current camaro, mustange gt500 and dodge challenger srt8 absolutely destroy any of their counterparts from the 60’s in every measurable way. 0-60, 1/4 mile, handling, braking, comfort… every one favors todays car.

In my opinion, no it is an exotic sports car. A magnificent, great looking, fast, sports car. True muscle cars are from the 60’s & 70’s. The new "muscle" cars with all the modern technology are too perfect. I like them but would prefer to own an old one. My opinion. Laurence

wikipedia has listed as a muscle car but technically its not due to its often compared to exotic cars such as the ford gt, porsche, and ferrari. it has a v10 engine in it. muscle cars only came with v8, were not intended for great handling, sporty good looks, and comfort. they meant business straight line performance. dodge viper is not a muscle car i would list it under either exotic or sports car. and for the person who said that the new challenger, mustang gt, and camaro can destroy they 60s counterparts that is somewhat wrong. yes in handling but the old challenger with a hemi with modern day tires for better grip can beat the new challenger in 1/4,and the old 427 camaros will no doubt smoke the new camaro in 1/4 with just better tires via 11.22 at 122 mph vs new camaro at 13.0 at 110.9 but none of the old ones can match the new ones top speed obviously

This is the most distorted question. the answer is NO! Its a sports car. As is a Corvette.
Mustangs and Camaros werent either, they were considered pony cars. The true muscle cars were the Charger, Road Runners, Chevelles, Torinos, Cyclones, 442, etc..
