Old Muscle Car Colors ‘74 Dodge Dart?

So im trying to decide on the best color to paint my ‘74 Dodge Dart. I have a bit of time before I paint but its in the back of my mind. What are the most common colors of the muscle cars in that era? i want it to look more vintage than modern. right now it is white with a blue kinda Nike stripe on it. Kinda like the Starsky and Hutch car.

Thats how mine is only the red is white and the white is light blue. I’d like to keep the Nike stripe though!
why don’t you try doing this go to a paint store and ask them to see their old books on all the old car colors and see which one you like the best,this way you can see what the actual color is going to look like,here,s a web site with some colors on it that you might like also,good luck, http://carcolors.com

By 1974, Earthtones were common on most every application. You realize 1974 is well past the bright colors of 1970, right? I’d guess only Hemi Orange and Lemon Twist were the only Mopar High Impact colors available in 1974.
If you want to get an accurate color sample from 1974, go to http://www.autocolorlibrary.com and choose the respective brand and year. Otherwise, paint the car whatever floats yer boat.

Lime greeen with black stripes on the rear fenders looks good, had one like it, alos had a Plum Crazy 1970 Dodge Challenger, and my Brother has a Competition Orange 70 Hemicuda.. and beteween us we have three trucks two Ghost white, One Maroon
