Also The "Running Bear", Anderson Pontiac (Knafel ), 1963 Pontiac Tempest Lemans 421 S.D., the Protoype with Pontiac engineers, for the new 1964 Pontiac GTO, "Running Bear" did the 1/4 mile in 11.89 @ 123.28MPH! In 1961 Pontiac made history when Hayden Proffit blew everyone away in a Factory 1961 Pontiac Catalina 421 S.D. with a 1/4 mile in 12.55 seconds @ 110.20 MPH, first factory car under 13 seconds, first car in the 12s, in the World! 1962 Jim Wangers 1/4 mile in 12.38 @ 116 MPH in a 1962 Pontiac Catalina 421 Super Duty, factory! Therefore the Greatest Muscle Car, and First True Muscle Car was the 1964 Pontiac GTO!
