R/T – Road and Track, Rapid Transit was used when advertising Plymouth’s "Rapid Transit System" which included the ‘Cuda, Roadrunner and the GTX. Rapid Transit and Rapid Transit System was a Plymouth only phrase.

its always meant road and track tuned when used on any chrysler car that has the logo on it,it just means that it has suspension capable of driving it on the open road or the track,and there is a difference in the ones that have it and the ones that don’t,good luck.

R/T originally stood for "Road/Track" until Chrysler used the words "Rapid Transit" in the marketing and advertising for one of the R/T vehicles. This is why some people say "Rapid Transit"

Originally came from Road and Track, a performance oriented package they had on some 60s models. For some reason instead of abbreviating it as RT or R.T. they had to use R/T, maybe because of a copyright.
