    Very sad that Steak …
Very sad that Steak & Ale is gone. The location in Charleston, SC closed in 1999. At the time, the company stated that the location was too far away from other Steak & Ale locations. It was a peculiar decision because this restaurant location was ALWAYS packed. A local restauranteur quickly snapped up the property, put Hardie-plank siding over the outside, a fresh coat of paint, and added an outside deck. They have been operating a very successful restaurant there (Sunfire Grill) since.

I am also sad without Steak & Ale. We have Bennigan’s here still open. The Monte Cristo is good there but I miss my Spicy Grilled Chicken Pasta and unlimited salad bar. Here, UNO Chicago Grill closed also!
